Burglar Alert!

So we were ready to pull out of the driveway from AZ to UT on Thursday morning. The car was all packed and ready to go the night before. And then I saw this:

After about 5 minutes, we realized that my purse had been in the front seat and was no longer there. (Don't give me grief about leaving my purse in the car...I've already heard it and have learned my lesson.)

Three hours later, after cleaning things up, calling and cancelling credit cards, talking to the bank, window people, etc. we were ready to head out. Brian spent at least 1/2 hour rigging up this beauty:

Brian was pretty proud of himself. However, after about 10 seconds of driving, he realized that he could see anything - even with that perfect sized plastic hole to see in the side door mirrors. We got a mile down the road and he decided that it wasn't such a good plan. We really wanted to get home so we just went for it. We drove 2 hours to Flagstaff. It was COLD and LOUD. I had my head covered the whole time. No talking for us - we couldn't hear a thing!

We stopped at a Safeway to get us some treats and I purchased us a nice pack of earplugs and some Saran Wrap as well. Brian was on the phone and I wrapped up the door.

I thought I was laughing hard then. Then we started driving. I can't believe I didn't wet my pants or deliver a baby - I have NEVER LAUGHED so hard in my entire life. It sounded like a hurricane! Way worse than before, BUT it was warm. :) The saran wrap lasted for about 40 miles and ripped off. So we braved the last 7 hours with a pillow in the window, sock gloves on our hands, and blankets wrapped around our heads. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of that, but you can imagine. :)

Given the circumstances, it could have been a sad trip. But it was honestly one of the funniest things that has ever happened to us.

On the drive home, I was thinking of all sorts of things to say to the burglar on my blog. For example, I hope you enjoy my 3 MAC lipsticks and expired temple recommend. Good luck with those. Or the fact that I had ZERO cash in my purse. What a waste of your time! Perhaps you could put some money IN the purse just because you feel sorry for me. And what about those Babies R Us giftcards? What will you do with those?

Luckily, the next day my purse was turned into a junior high by a kid who found it at a bus stop. The purse and wallet had been ripped apart, but EVERYTHING was there - credit cards, license, checks, AND my giftcards! Yeah! (Wait, I lied...cell phone stolen). So, in the end, a little inconvenience gave us a good laugh and turned out not to be so bad afterall. I can't wait to put all of these pictures in my scrapbook. It will always make me smile. :)

Arizona Fun

We drove down to AZ for Spring Break. The visit is three-fold...
1) Brian needs Epi Lasek surgery from my dad
2) Baby shower for Natalie and baby by my mom and sisters
3) Needing to get out of cold Utah for a minute. Hello, it snowed there last week.

All three things have already been accomplished so far, and we've still got six days left! We are having a great time. Well, Brian may not be. But at least he can see! His vision is already 20/30 after 24 hours. This is how he has spending his day...Sad!

All the while, the girls are partying hard! Annie, you left too early for my picture! And all sisters minus Melissa and Lane were there...

My mom is the QUEEN of showers. Yellow and blue boquets of flowers and all!

Cute cousins Brooke, Alex, and Elle

Friends Lachelle and Nicole and sis Lynsey

SO FUN to see long-time friend Jill (and Brianne - who I didn't get a picture of before she left!) It's nice to see old friends who you rarely see but just pick up where you left off, even if it was years ago. I love that!

Thanks family and friends for such a fun day. Everyone was so sweet and generous. This baby is hooked up!

And we've still got a week to hang out while Brian is recooperating. I'm sure there will be more fun to share later....

Arizona Friends

There are a lot of you I have found and gotten in touch with through this blog. Brian and I will be coming down to AZ for our spring break for a baby shower that my mom and sisters are having as well as eye surgery for Brian.
It would be so fun to see some of my old buddies! If you want to know about the shower or maybe just want to chat for a minute, email me and I'll send you details. I am less worried about you bringing me presents and more interested in just seeing you!
