Sorry Jonah boy, but I haven't been as faithful at writing up your monthly happenings. Life with three kids kicks me in the can most days! And just know that while I don't know the exact date that you first smiled or rolled over or did a real belly laugh, that you are just as important and special as every other member of our family.
There is no question that YOU ARE LOVED! There is no shortage of pictures of your sweet mug all over my phone!
You are without question the most pleasant baby I've ever encountered. The best baby ever born! You pretty much only cry when you are hungry and tired. Sounds a lot like me. :) It is easy to get a smile out of you. Strangers notice your smile and chubby rolls and people comment on those things pretty much every time we are out and about.
At four months you weighed in at 17 1/2 pounds. Right in the middle size-wise of Gavin and McKay. Newcomers in our neighborhood and ward do double takes and can't believe your size. You look bigger than most 6 and 7 month old babies. But we know that this is how our Robinson boys are made!
At about 3 1/2 months I ignored your cries one night and ever since then you have slept through the night, 10-11 hours. Because you were doing that I took the plunge and sleep trained you right about four months old. Your naps were sporadic and short and I think you were getting over tired. It took a solid week. Eight days maybe. You would sleep for 45 minutes and then you would cry until your next feeding. It was heart wrenching. I hated it. But I felt it had to be done. Right on the very day I was going to quit, you got it. And you've done awesome naps in your crib ever since. One to three hours twice a day and sometimes three. And then usually another capnap in the evening. It has made a difference. I didn't know that a happy baby could get happier, but once you starting getting enough sleep that's exactly what happened.
You are getting more control of your head and are rocking your tummy time. You are starting to reach and grasp for things, which already are headed straight for your mouth. We just gave you your first taste of "real people food" and are loving rice cereal and sweet potatoes. You are still nursing like a champ and are going to set a new record for the kid I nursed the longest. You squeal when I pick you up out of your crib and smile a big smile when you know it is time to get up.
You are pretty forgiving as the third kid. This month McKay drove your stroller off the sidewalk and you were upsidedown with your head on the asphalt. You whimpered and then we went on our way. Then Gavin pulled your carseat over without you buckled in and you came flying out onto the floor. You got over that in about 15 seconds. It took Gavin longer to feel ok about it. They both felt awful about hurting you. They love you and kiss you and are in your face constantly. You are more ok with it than I am!
You were born into a family with busy boys. While we don't have tons going on and holding us to schedules and running all over town yet, you pretty much just go with the flow. Whatever we are doing, you're in for it. I love that about you. I live for your laughs and smiles and love how you watch us walk around the room.
I'm excited to see what you'll do next. Baby JoJo, Jones, Jonas - you are one in a million!
