I love this boy more and more every day. Lately I've been feeling a little overwhelmed being a working mom. I know people do it all the time, but sometimes it's hard to me to feel like I'm really doing okay at something if I've got fifty somethings to do. I'm working on being patient about that. Luckily I get to go 1/2 time next year. I'm so excited to have more time with my little buddy.
I love picking Gavin up at the end of the day and have him reach out his arms for me to pick him up. If he's on the ground, he'll pull at my pant legs and want to get up to his mama. Melts my heart.
At nine months, Gavin army crawls with the best of them. I turn around and he's under the table or eating the pedals on the piano or investigating the garbages. He still likes to test the taste of things in his mouth. As you can tell, he's eating just fine. Last week he weighed in at 23 lbs 14 ozs. Chubba lub! (I still feel like my arms should look like Jillan Michaels, but they don't.) He's experimenting with all sorts of less-pureed foods. We're also testing out gluten, which I'm allergic to. Hopefully the breads and pastas and all things yummy sit well with him. He can feed himself and bottle and other foods. Sometimes I take away his independence because I just want to hold him while he drinks, but other times it's nice. He's got four teeth - two fangs on top and the two middle teeth on the bottom. I'm still getting used to his new smile!
He waves and babbles and laughs and jumps. Squeals and copies us and runs away. He's working on clapping and making his little fingers work how he wants them to. He's been watching Baby Signing Time and laughs and laughs. I know he understands "all done" but he hasn't done anything on his own yet. But at least I can blow dry my hair or get dinner ready and not worry that he's getting into trouble.

This is a happy, pleasant kid. He is usually sitting in his crib peering out the slats waiting for me to come and get him. He is pretty consistent at his schedule. He sleeps from 7-7 and then takes two good naps a day. I need the predictability - good for an OCD mom.
Yesterday Gavin looked at Brian and I and screamed at us - lots of times. He grabbed the side of his highchair and his face got red and he started shaking his head at us. He's got things to say and I can't wait to hear all about it. It's fun to see his little personality come out - pleasant or mad.

I look at this picture and cannot believe how fast the time has gone. He'll be one before I know it! But for now, we enjoy the moments. There are so many good things and we are learning so much along the way.
Just thankful, thankful for my sweet Gavin!

What a cutie! I love the double chin.
What a beautiful child!!!! I had 7 children, now all grown up, and I am enjoying my 10 lovely grandchildren.
I never worked though I trained to be an R.N.....but the best thing was that I got to enjoy every day with my children. I loved it.
Good luck to you.
What a cute baby boy you have. They do grow so quickly and don't want to be "babies" anymore. He's so cute-- we're coming in June and I just want to give him a squeeze!!!
SO cute. I hope you didn't have any snotty little boys tell you you were mean today. I just hate those days! Thank you for coming to my class yesterday even though you had a rotten day.
Too cute! Such chunk! But it probly doesn't slow him down at all. They grow so fast this first year. I tell Grace to slow it down, but she doesn't listen. And I didn't know you were a glutten-free gal. Sorry. I have a friend who is trying to tweak a glutten-free home-made bread recipie and will let you know when/if she does--unless you have one already, and if so, please pass it on...
Seriously? 9 months? How does that even happen? He's so stinking cute, and it makes me happy to see how much being amom makes you happy.
Little Signing Time trivia/my two cents. We LOVE Signing Time at our house. With Patrick, we didn't see him do any signing on his own until about 11 months and then it took off really quickly. Kennedy has been similar--she had about 5 signs at 9 months and is just starting to take off now with lots and lots of signs and words, far more that Patrick. I can attest that girls are for sure more verbal, both in words and signs! You'll love it though, when his little hands start to match all he has to say, and it will be well worth it. And it the meantime, yes, we can all be grateful for a guilt free way to get dinner on the table! :) We love Rachel!
Oh, also, don't know which series you are using, but I have found Baby Signing Time to be FAR more effective/entertaining to the under 18 month set than the original series. Love them both but, FWIW.
He seems like a seriously happy kid, and why shouldn't he be?
You guys are awesome!
A couple more weeks and we'll get to see all of you! We are debating bringing the children. We'll see.
Adorable pictures! It was fun to see you all the other night.
Oh Natalie, he is so gorgeous! You are doing a great job being a mom! I love the little fat genes (I wonder if it comes from the Woolf side?) My baby is now 6 months and over 20 pounds also. Keep up the good work. Congrats on 1/2 time next year. What a blessing!
So sweet! I love this post! And those pics are soooo cute!
What a doll! I can't believe how big he's getting. I'm so excited you guys are coming out for a visit and for sure let's do Easter at our house. We'll have to connect and compare some gluten free recipes. I don't know if you heard that I'm starting the gluten/casein free diet for both of my boys. Not fun at all! But I've had it recommended to me several times for a variety of reasons, so we'll see what happens.
Can't wait to see you guys. You're welcome to stay here if you need a place to stay!
Love you!
I wonder if he can get any cuter? Seriously you should be proud because he is so cute. Can you believe he is almost a year old. I am so excited that you get to work part time next year and stay home with this little boy!
